The CL1B is highly respected in the studio world, it has been used on countless hit records.  So I’m not quite sure why I don’t really love it.  I like this box, I use it every now and then, but it seems like I’m not as into it as other engineers.  I think it has to do with the sound of my mixes right now, maybe as my sound progresses I will work this piece back into my chain.  I feel like this box is either compressing to much or not compressing enough, I have problems finding the happy medium.  It could be a number of factors, maybe the 2 units we have at the studio need maintenanced.  I’m not sure, they seem ok.  Does anyone else feel this way about the CL1B or is it just me????????? 

    Overall this compressor has great features like fully sweepable attack, release, and ratio knobs.  It really puts the controls in your hand.  The tone of the unit is lush and silky.
