When I have this box my life is better.  It can make the cheesiest sounds seem authentic, it can make the harshest rapper sound silky.  The 33609 can be used on any and everything.  Neve is selling remakes that sound amazing, and the price ain’t that bad.  It’s a lot more reasonable than a Neve 1073.  This is a stereo unit making it great for background vocals, mix busses, stereo synths, etc.  It’s notched, and that normally bothers me, but this box sounds so good that I don’t even care. 

   

    It’s easy to use because it has such a distinct sound, you can hear how the compression is affecting the audio, this makes it easy to figure out where the knobs should go.  Just trust your ears.
